Overview

This hands-on, hybrid workshop, co-hosted with the SMPS Southeast Michigan Chapter and delivered by Everest Marketing Services President, Barbara Shuck, will help you understand how to develop your firm's stories for marketing and business development. Building upon what we learned in Shuck's May webinar, this session will take a deeper dive into storytelling for architecture, engineering, and construction firms for the full benefit of storytelling applications! Please bring your laptop and some examples of proposals, websites, and social media so that you can apply insights throughout the presentation. We will work in small groups to address storytelling challenges to learn from others and adapt our material.

Many architecture, engineering, or construction marketing/business development professionals are tasked to write their company’s story. You’ve heard about storytelling, but it’s challenging, especially when your technical staff and leaders are uncomfortable with getting too far away from the usual, “we’ve been in business for 75 years and are proud of our history of….” It’s frustrating to bring new ideas to our industry. Here’s the good news: It doesn’t have to be that way. In this Coffee Chat, Everest Marketing Services President Barbara Shuck —a StoryBrand Certified Guide— will share her insights to help you apply storytelling, aka “narrative,” principles proven to engage clients, prospects, and colleagues. Mug up with your favorite morning beverage, and share questions and ideas about storytelling.
